Intended Parent Consultation

Supportive guidance for your family-building journey through third-party reproduction

If you're exploring parenthood through egg or sperm donation, gestational surrogacy, or embryo donation, you may be referred for an Intended Parent Consultation Evaluation. This is a standard and supportive part of the process—not a test or judgment, but an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and prepare for the emotional, relational, and logistical parts of this path.

These evaluations aren’t meant to stand in the way of growing your family. Instead, they’re here to help you feel more emotionally grounded, informed, and confident as you move forward with intention.

What We’ll Cover Together

  • Your Emotional Readiness
We’ll explore how you’re feeling about this process—what you’re excited about, what you’re uncertain about, and how you’re coping with the steps so far.
  • Understanding the Bigger Picture
You’ll receive information and guidance on the emotional, legal, and medical aspects of third-party reproduction. We’ll also talk through important topics like disclosure to your child, potential future contact with donors or surrogates, and navigating these relationships with care and clarity.
  • Making Space for Grief or Complexity
If you’ve been through infertility, loss, or other hard experiences, this is a space to honor that. We can gently explore any lingering grief, fears, or ambivalence—without rushing to fix or resolve anything.
  •  Personalized Support & Tools
We’ll discuss strategies that can support you along the way—from communication with your partner or agency to managing stress or setting healthy boundaries. You’ll leave with resources tailored to your needs.
  • Collaboration & Planning
If any additional support might be helpful, I can offer referrals to trusted therapists, support groups, or professionals who understand this space well.

Why These Evaluations Matter

  • Clarity & Confidence
This process helps you better understand the emotional and relational landscape of third-party reproduction, so you can move forward feeling clear and empowered.
  • Emotional Readiness
Exploring these topics ahead of time helps reduce surprises and build emotional resilience for what’s ahead.
  • You, as a Whole Person
This isn’t just about your role as a future parent—it’s about supporting you, your story, and what matters to you in this journey.

Whether this is your first step toward parenthood or part of a longer, more complicated path, you don’t have to go it alone. I’m here to walk with you, offer support, and help you prepare in a way that honors your values and lived experience.

Have questions or want to know what to expect? Reach out—I’m happy to connect.
